ILU Overview - Our Mission
Our Objective

The ILU mission is to efficaciously drive practices and policies as they relate to persons with disabilities and the organizations into which they are integrated. Our partnership is designed to align disabilities assessment with service delivery and develop policy to support that relationship.

The Objective Explained

Our mission states that the ILU partners look to make sure that disabilities oriented programs do what they say they do. If programs fall short of their intent, we will assess why they are not meeting their objectives. We also offer advice as to how they might do so as efficiently as is reasonable.

We recognize that the biggest reason for disabilities benefits, accommodations, and other services breaking down often results from miscommunication. Professionals from various sections of the medical, educational, insurance, veterans, psychological, and legal communities seldom speak the same language. As a result, they often interpret very uniquely the intent or perspective of their counterparts from these disabilities sectors.

To meet this challenge the ILU has assembled a team of professionals with each person representing one part of those different disabilities sectors. Our team members are experienced with conflicts stemming from diverse perspectives and how to resolve them.

Our ultimate goal is to help expand the Learning & Understanding of all professionals as well as advocates in the field.
